Does Link Juice Go Downhill or Uphill?

I always thought that the subpages linking back to the category pages, or the home page, are what gave the home page authority.

But I've also heard that it links down from the home page to the sub pages.

Does it go both ways?

    Yes its bi and goes both ways.

    Link juice flows from links. So where ever you are link from to linking to. Which can go anyway.
