So this is just a purely curious question....

I have been told by many not to trust google keyword tool for traffic volume and that market samurai is the best tool for keyword research. Well if ms uses the google keyword tool for it's data how can that be true? Is there a better tool out there?

market samurai is a popular one that many warriors use.

I dont think there is a tool that is 100% accurate in finding the actual search volume, to 100% precession.

I did the tests a while back

    micronichefinder
    MS
    GKWT
    Word tracker

    etc

    etc

    etc

    they were all different

definitive answer -for me -from me . . . NO

but I can tell you that Googles search volume in their keyword tool is made up not only of googles search engine but also their partner search engines which are about 33% of the volume . . so knock off a third from them if you use them and it wil be more accurate than just google key word tool

So you are all basically confirming what I originally thought...there is no tool that gives you 100% accurate data? No worries I kind of already knew that I just seeing if some ultra guru would come out of left field with an answer I had never heard before.

True, no product has 100% accurate results, however if you press the "exact" button on the google keyword tool it's pretty darn close.

What i do for my niche sites is...

-Use Google keyword tool to find exact match searches
-set up an adwords PPC campaign with a headline that few people want to click
and see the amount of impressions per time period, then get the amount of impressions in a month

If results are satisfactory and not too far off, then yes the results can be trusted. I personally don't think that any other software can be even more reliable than google keyword tool in determining the exact search on google.

Sounds too much of an irony to me.

Okay, here are two very important things you should know about:

    1) All the various keyword tools (Market Samurai, Micro Niche Finder, etc.) use Google, or more specifically the Google AdWords tool as their source for traffic numbers. You won't get better or worse results with any of these tools.

    2) Ever since an update a few months back, the numbers you see in the Google AdWords tool are actually very accurate.
If you look at the exact match search volume of a keyword and you get the number one rank for that keyword, you'll see something around 40% to 50% of that traffic coming to your site. For a few of my rankings, the traffic numbers in the AdWords tool have been spot on.

For accurate search volume, the only number that matters is the exact match number. This is very important. Broad and phrase match numbers are for AdWords ad-targeting. You can safely ignore them completely, for SEO.

If you are using a keyword tool and it's not giving you exact match numbers or it's unclear what numbers it's giving you, stop using it.

Google Adwards Keyword Tool, is the best tool for Keywords Analysis. It is also the best tool for finding the search volume of the keywords.

Through the Google Adward Keyword Tool, there are two ways that you can find keywords for your small business website.
    1. Add descriptive words or phrases that are relevant to your small business
    2. Add a URL from a relevant website to see what keywords that site uses and then use similar keywords for your site.
    Thanks

The problem with Google’s free keyword tool is that few internet marketers realize that Google offers two different sets of data: “broad” or “exact.”

Broad calculates every time the series of words you used are used in any search, so the answer will tend to be exaggerated.

Exact calculations only look at searches which use those exact keywords and the results are much more accurate.

I tend to trust Google over any software, yes even the Samurai, simply because only Google has the “exact” information.

It is their search engine, so I’m positive they should be able to calculate how many times a keyword is being searched for.
