Hubpages Blogging Platform Service??

I help a small company with internet marketing strategy on a purely informal advisory basis. Yesterday they told me they recently hired Hubpages to set up a blog for them which they are going to integrate with their website, which runs on Wordpress.

(I think they did this because they were having a problem with Wordpress permalink conversions but that's water under the bridge)

Hubpages created a subdomain, [companyname].web2.hubpages.com, and set up a blog for them there. I suppose they have their own proprietary platform. Then they will give them the code to integrate the blog with their website, I suppose via a Wordpress page.

I have a couple of potential issues with this approach:

1. If the content is indexed via the Hubpages subdomain, it seems to me it will show up on that domain as well as on their website. So which will Google place first in the SERPs, all things being equal.

2. Does a Hubpages blog rate better in the SERPs in general than a self-hosted Wordpress install.

Anyone have any experience with using Hubpages services in this manner?

I had no idea HubPages was even doing this - I write for them and I never really saw anything about a blog. I am curious as well. I imagine the keywords would play in. Sorry I don't have the answer, but I would be curious as well.
