Link Wheels: how to best REUSE them?

I've got 5 linkwheels (broken linkwheels, meaning that at least one site has no link to the money site) created for me by lexorsoft. I want to add to them and reuse them. I don't this treated anywhere as a topic.

Here are the particulars of what I need your advice on. The sites are linkwheeled through blog roles or links near the bottom of the page (not in the footer) and not in articles.

Supposedly these are powerful the first time you put them together. Do they remain strong for additional articles I post? Do I still get the great powerful linking you associate with a link wheel? Do I need to continue linkwheeling the sites? In other words, as I add articles, should I use the articles to link wheel the sites in addition to the built in link wheeling I noted above.

I'm counting on these being a great resource and something to build some strong SEO from.

What's the biggest thing I should do to ensure the power of these linkwheels?

What's the biggest mistake I should avoid in using them?

Thanks!

You don't need link wheels but since you have them just make sure that any new links you get point to the right place.

Ideally each spoke in the wheel is focusing on a different keyword/phrase, so just make sure that when you create a new link that whatever the keyword it focuses on has a link with that keyword going to your spoke page about that keyword.

It's just common sense. I tend to avoid link wheels but sensible and relevant linking always make sense so just be clear about where your links need to point and use the right keyword/phrase in them from now on.

Why is this the case? I take it this has to do with trying to get the sites in the link wheel to rank (or rather move up in Google SERPs or page rank). So you keep the anchor text tight in each spoke and the site at the end of the spoke is getting more backlinks on that specific keyword. Is that right?

Once you get the hand of them link wheels do not take long, and an old wheel is often a bad fit for a new site, I would say take a single spoke and use it to jump start a new wheel
