Domain Name: Hyphenated or not

I am just in the process of preparing to launch a product in a new niche and the time has come to choose a suitable domain name. It will be .com but there are two possibilities:

1) A domain name that precisely describes the product but includes hyphens
(e.g. computer-database-secrets.com)

2) A domain name derived from the above but with the middle word pluralised as the singular version has already gone
(e.g. computerdatabasessecrets.com)

Is there any positive or negative affect of either name from an SEO perspective, or indeed from any other IM perspective?

NOTE: The domain name shown is only an example, not the actual niche that I am targeting.

hyphenate - especially if it is your keyword - I'm told search engines see hyphens as spaces whereas computerdatabasesecrets just looks like goobledigook (no offense) to the search engine. However I would be interested to hear other opinions and experiences!

I would stick with option one, just in case the customer does not pluralize the middle word and your hard work goes to the other site owner.
