Sharing AdSense revenue

There are a number of article directories that share the AdSense revenue with those that provide the articles for them. I have wondered how they do that, and is there any way for me to do this with a partner if we want to work together on a project and have the AdSense revenue split between us, rather than one get the check and then send the money to the other. That way we would each be responsible for our own tax issues. I don't want to have to set up a company for this project and divvy up the revenues that way. I know that would probably be the right way to do this, but I don't want to go through the hassle of setting up a new company.

So, any ideas? Please share them with me.

I'm aware of "web 2.0" (whatever that really means) sites that do revenue-sharing - HubPages and Infobarrel, just to name a couple - but they're not article directories. I don't know of any decent article directories (i.e. ones with good SEO authority, and that facilitate the syndication of your articles) that do this, actually.

But most of the sites that do this achieve it through AdSense Publisher ID rotation, I think. You enter your Publisher ID, and it gets used x% of the time, according to their revenue-share percentage. Of course, just because ads are served with your Publisher ID 50% of the time (for example), it doesn't necessarily mean you're receiving 50% of the revenue your article pages generate, due to fluctuating CTR, CPCs and ad relevance throughout the day (and according to a visitor's geographical location).

If you want to do something like this, there are a few revenue sharing scripts/plugins available - especially for Wordpress, if your site is built on that - though I don't know their names off the top of my head. A quick Google search should bear some fruit, I think.

That is correct. Its just like banner rotation, a basic script that displays a pub id a set %age of times. You could probably find something similar for free and customize it easily.

I found a wordpress plug-in that is helpful for having guest authors and splitting revenue with them 50/50 on revenue generated from their articles. AdSense Sharing Revenue and Earnings System

Yeah - writing a script to in PHP for ad rev sharing is no big deal. Very simple script actually and sites like Ezine article are using a custom script because of it.

I would forward with new company. Not so hard at all.

I already have a random-ad-script that works out to about a 50/50 split on rotating Adsense Ads.

    1) Install script

    2) You create an Adsense Ad with your pubID

    3) Your partner creates the same size Ad with his pubID.

    4) The script rotates Ads when the page is refreshed/loaded.

BTW, I would never trust a plugin with my Adsense unless you can read the code to see what's going on inside the plugin.

Thanks folks. I am somewhat familiar with the plugin to rotate ads, but I was hoping to find something that would split the revenue, not the ad placement. But I guess that can't happen without Google's assistance, which I don't see happening.

If you have a large number of impressions, you can apply for AdSense API and go for revenue share.

I think it's like 100,000 impressions per day to use google api. I'm planning on letting authors have 100% of the adsense and charge for submissions. I think I'll charge $10 bucks per month for unlimited article submissions. I'm looking for a script an advice if anyone here can offer it.
