What does a $50 article look like, for a clickbank affiliate?

What does a $50 article look like? I'm asking about articles submitted to EzineArticles, with a goal of being syndicated and directing traffic back to a site that promotes a non-IM-related clickbank product.

I've been reading through many old posts that talk about the benefits of writing excellent, meaty content that will be desirable to publishers... content that owners of popular sites will want to host. Articles you'd pay $50 for, not $5 or $10.

But the thing is, I can't even imagine what this might look like for my get-your-ex-back niche.

Am I misunderstanding? Is the goal actually to write articles that will be syndicated, in order to get better backlinks rather than traffic? So that in my case, the article doesn't have to be about getting an ex back, but can be about anything relationship-related?

Can anyone point me to examples of articles that fit the bill, so I can learn from them? In any non-IM niche, I mean (acne, gardening, vertical jump, chicken coops, whatever....)

Thanks, -- Patey

Patey, your post reminded me of a joke.

A $50 article would be one written on the back of a $50 bill.

    Just kidding!

Seriously, there are no $50 articles on EZA, at least the ones I've seen.
And you can publish them free.

If you mean what can you do to get people to pay you $50 for an article?

You need to start writing content for yourself. Don't use EZA as an example.
    They are junk.

I have paid fellow warriors $50+ for articles, not $50 for one, but on a cost
    per word.

EZA is a tough sell for getting articles to be on others sites. Your best bet
is to pick one niche, and write dozens of articles. You would have a better
    chance of being found.

You will make more money by writing and publishing your own content, in
my opinion. Or, getting some people to publish articles first, as a start,
so you can show a portfolio. You may have to volunteer. Then, come back
and put an ad in the warrior forum.

There are plenty of people here who need guest bloggers and articles,
and may be willing to give you a link. Of course there would be no money
passing. You get a link, they get content.

Contact the warriors here who write articles, and normally they would be
happy to show you their work.

A $50 article would be at least 10 times better, and 3 times as long as
    a normal EZA article.

Oh. There's no shame in getting $10 for an article. Adds to the bottom line!

I have never heard anyone talk about this here. But yahoo has a free service
that lets you publish content on their associated content network.
Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com
    And yahoo pays you.

      Joke made me laugh.

And no, I don't want to get paid to write articles (shudders). That would be painful for me. It's all I can do to write my own, and I've stopped doing even that lately.

It's more that I've seen posts about a superior level of content that gets a better rate of syndication than your run-of-the-mill 500-word EZA article. Alexa Smith, for example, has said in the past that she writes longer, higher-quality articles and benefits from increased syndication. Her name comes first to mind, but others have said it too.

Just, I don't know what that LOOKS like, when the end goal is to sell a clickbank product as an affiliate.

In the world as I know it, I write an article and I put it on EZA and it brings me traffic for a few hours, and after that traffic is hit or miss. Maybe 15% of my articles continue to bring traffic after that initial surge. Maybe 10% of them get syndicated, but I don't get much traffic from that. Seems like most publishers don't keep my resource box anyway.

If there's a world beyond this, I'd like to know more about it.

EZA is not what it used to be.

It sounds as if you want more "ad copy" or "sales copy" in an article setting.

Are you trying to sell clickbank products?

I can't see someone republishing an article on a clickbank product unless
they themselves want to sell it.

Clickbank products are a different animal. I'll admit I know nothing about
doing clickbank. I tried and failed. Not my cup of tea. I especially did
not like the rules of getting paid. There rules are hard for the adverage person,
or below average, like me. There was no way I would ever get 5 or so
different credit card orders, when places I promote all want paypal.

I decided to promote me and my stuff.

I sell enough to be encouraged to keep at it. I tweak and experiment, and some changes make sales increase, and that makes me happy. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to get more traffic, and wondering if better quality articles will lead to more syndication, and more traffic. But it's either going to be expensive or torturous, so I want to learn more before I settle on a plan.

I appreciate your input, Paul. Your sites are ones I have 'studied' in the past, to learn from.

To me a $50 article (a 500 word one anyway), would be something that requires a lot of research, think something technical or in the medical field, with references, etc.

If I have to read 5 studies and 3 professional journals to write an article, I'm gonna charge for that. The article itself probably doesn't look any different, but the work that went into it is likely 10 times more than a typical article I write.

Sure, I can see it from that perspective.

I found the old thread again, the one that made me ask the question. It was this one: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-800-00-a.html

I simply think you are asking the wrong question.

You do not NEED a "$50 article" to have a good article which makes people click to your site. It's really common sense things , psychology, attending to people's NEEDS...providing solutions for their needs ON YOUR SITE.

$50? Heck no. Furthermore, EZA is hardly the place where noble prize winners go for research about plasma induction...or placing an article which would legitimate $50 because you had to do so much research to even write it.

Making a customer click is NO rocket science

And as to answer your actual questions...make it so that the Article targets (and is about) exactly the keywords/needs of the customer.

Example: HOW TO MAKE A REVERSE CELL PHONE NUMBER LOOKUP

Then you write in your article what it is, explain the benefits etc..etc..make yourself the AUTHORITY which provides help to the reader who is looking for the SOLUTION OF A PROBLEM.

Without spilling the actual solution in the article (important!!) you elegantly at the end refer him to your site which you recommend because it would fit exactly what the reader is looking for.

If the reader is looking for "natural remedy for acne"...of course you wont list the exact steps in the article...but give rather an overview eg what remedies are there and then direct them to your site.

    Its really rather simple.

Yeah. Or maybe, I think what it is is that I'm asking my question wrong.

Because I'm happy with my EZA article CTR. I have dozens of articles on my site, and I'm happy with the percentage who land on an article and take the time to also visit what I think of as my 'money' page. (Or at least, I'm happy with my ability to improve these things further through testing.)

I probably shouldn't have said "$50 article." That was really a reference to another thread.

What I was really looking for was examples of articles submitted to EZA, that are appealing to publishers and get syndicated a lot, where the author's resource box leads back to a site that promotes a clickbank product.

As a way of getting more referral traffic.

That's based on the assumption that highly-promotional 500-word articles are NOT appealing to publishers. -- Patey
