uniqueness??? What percentage?

I am rewriting my own articles using a spinner, then rereading and modifying them from there for actual readability and clarity. I am a horrible writer, so I personally use the spinner for ideas. Also, I don't use it for automatic spinning, I use the spinner for ideas and spin them that way myself.

How much "uniqueness" should an article have to be considered "unique" and not "duplicate content" by the serps?

Thank you,

Adam

You need to go to the SEO part of the WF with this question.

Sales copy is not concerned with SERPS or duplicate content issues.

Even though copywriting is way more than sales letters, I'd be totally comfortable calling this the "sales letter" forum. You'd get way fewer lost souls of this sort.

To answer the question, kind of, and make my post not totally irrelevant to the topic which is, unfortunately, at hand:

I would try to push your uniqueness quotient higher, rather than looking for the minimum acceptable standard.

I say this not just as someone who abhors spun content, but as someone looking at the future of serps.

There is very real discontent among readers about the amount of rehashed, spun crap on the web. Which to me says that Google-type standards are only going to get more and more rigid as time passes. If you want your stuff to stay relevant past tomorrow, follow the trend rather than treading the line.

Above 60% is good enough. It depends on the quality you would like to produce--after all if you want people to read your article and click on any links it has to be somewhat well written.

Why do you think your a horrible writer? If I can write anyone can, you're just promoting the idea in your noggin' that you CAN'T write. Trust me that if you can figure out how to use a spinner you can figure out how to write.

      "I am a horrible writer" = "I don't really like to write."

      "I am a horabull writer" = "I am a horrible writer."

        I love it.

As for uniqueness, I've heard everywhere from 60% - 40%, but I would definitely spend more focus on making sure the article is grabbing the reader's attention.

I mean, I spend a lot of time focusing on making it interesting to the reader.

I suppose that's why I'm hopeless when it comes to article writing for my own SEO purposes...
