    • As far as I know they base their stats on the Google keyword. The difference is that Google keyword displays the total searches for a month, whereas as MS shows the number of hits a site in position 1 of Google can expect.
I think this is based on the stats that say the number 1 site gets around 45% of the total searches.
For me though the keyword stats are a very small part of MS. The SEO module is where the real money is. The fact you can find free high PR backlinks is worth 10 times the price you pay for it.

The reason why I asked is because I found a KW on MS that gets over 2k searches a day... or so it says and theres only 8k sites when I use "..." in google. When I checked out the sites theres really no competition for the KW which is great.

TBInternetMarketing has it 100% spot on.

The SEOT is (according to my calculations) a 'crude' measure calculated as 42% of the total search volume. It is a handy way to have a rought guide right in front of you.

Additionally, the SEO module is truly where the gold lies with this software. I spend more time staring at this screen than any other in MS.

I think its a nice tool to use to check for SEOT, I've also heard that they gives pretty nearest results from the expectation.
