can i do simple url redirect to the product sales page in my a campaign

Hey guys im trying my hands for the first time at ppc [its not adwords] .

I was thinking of instead of creating a landing page and so all can i simply buy a domain and redirect it to my product sales page, since the sales page itself is higly converting ?

    How would you get it to rank then mate?

    You'd have a domain but no site. It would be impossible to get google to rank your domain for whatever keyword you're targeting.
    It would just waste your time and money...

    What would happen if you were to build a lsi word rich site and fill it with original content etc BUT have a redirect in place so although your domain and description appeared in the serps -no one would visit your site - it would redirect straight to the sales page etc?

    Would Google penalise for this (why?) and if not -it saves a hell of a lot of time "prettying" a website up for human eyes! Especially if you are not the best at sales copy and the sales page is full of (expensive) excellent copy already!
