Optimize each post ?

Hey warriors,

thank you for all your help! I sincerely appreciate!
I had a question about posts on my blog about backlinking and promotion

If I'm placing articles in directories and linking back to a specific "post" for that particular product I'm writing about, in order to optimize that post/page on my site for traffic which I understand should include of course keywords and good content(I know keywords and content are always basic and necessary), but I also I understand backlinking from things like other sites, SB sites, SB networks, general directories, etc., are also needed to post ranking

Should this be done for each post on my site? (I'm referring to backlinking and SB sites SB networks, directories etc..)

I mean I don't know how WP compares to most css or html driven sites
but I know that WP gives each post it's own "page" "url" in a sense
or maybe I should say makes the post "exclusive"....

any thoughts or feedback if you know specifically would be
much appreciated

    Its good to bookmark each post using something like wp syndicator or the onlywire plugin to give the post more authority. Plus it sends link power through out the site cause a wp blog is dynamic.

    I personally send links to home page, catergory pages and seperate blog pages and this can be automated pretty effectly these days.

      My wp syndicator seems to be inactive? Is there any particular setting we need to be modified for the WP syndicator to work?

        for WP syndication you have to burn a feed and add that into your blog...my theme has a place setting for the feed...you can do this at Google Feedburner

        regarding your general question, my advice is two-fold:

        1. start by writing what Yaro calls "Pillar articles" about the primary subject matter in your niche

        2. then use these pillar articles to build nested sets of links from blog posts created after the pillar content, so you will always be interlinking between your individual WP posts

        and also make sure to use 'contextual links'....do not link to a phrase which says "my previous post", instead use a contextual link like "in my previous post about <link building>" where the words link building are the actual link to the previous post.

        Every new post should have at least one link back to the root domain and one or more links to other posts of yours...

    Another idea too to get the index ball rolling is to use a few profile forum links to get some link juice to each profile.
