say for instance your main keyword is 'dog training' & your URL is dogtrainingobedience.com

You type in dog training into google & want to find out where your site ranks without having to scower multiple pages

or must this be done manually?

Market Samuri has a feature that shows what place you are and for what keywords on multiple search engines.

That is obviously one of the way, but while doing this you can't know what are the other keywords in which you are ranking. For this make a Google webmaster's account for your website. Check your search queries over there. There you can have complete report in which keywords you have ranking too.

For more details you can have google analytics accout too.

I also use Market Samuri but It only shows the top 10 search results for a said keyword, you can get details on your own page but not its placement if it is outside the top 10. Maybe I missed something if I did let me know it does have a lot of features

SEOMoz has a few great tools that will monitor the top 100 results. Try opensiteexplorer.org to demo their capabilities, if its free.
