edu or gov links worth it?

I'm in the midst of my first big push for a new site, and the niche I've found the competition isn't really that impressive. None of the top ten Google spots have any major backlink structures, and I was curious if investing in a couple of edu links might be worth the cost?

It would be only part of an overall traffic generation plan, but I was wondering if it might not hurt.

    Without a doubt mate.

    Although they cost a little high, just a few of those links will be enough to take your site to the first page IMHO.

      These kind of links would be a great help to your site because most of it are authority sites. Though, It will cost you an arm and leg

      Fair enough, I appreciate your insight. Your right about the price, but considering the potenial savings in time it will be worth it.
