What's the best way to go in your opinion if you have to target a very important keyword for your website ?

A subdomain with thisismybestkeyword.mydomain.com ? or

mydomain.com/this-is-my-best-keyword.html for example ?

Which one will trigger Google attention faster ?

Many thanks !

I have learned that subdomains need a bit more backlinks to rank the same.

Interesting question - I am curious as well. How does a domain with a post title rank? I am wondering if you have a lot of products, I can get expensive (and time consuming) to just keep buying a domain for every single product. If it relates to your main domain, has anyone had success doing it that way.

For example, instead of long-tail: bestkeywordtopicsite.com vs. topic.com/keyword.html
