Duplicate articles for backlinks

Are there any dos and donts when it comes to submitting articles to directories for backlinks?
I heard that its best to send the article to ezine first then change it, and submit the different version to 3 or 4 other directories.

When you send the same article to different directories, should you hav the author details identical or different each time?

Any other suggestions for getting the most out of article backlinks?

thanks

If you are using your articles for backlinking, you can reuse the article you submit to eZinearticles.

    Here is my suggestion:

-Publish the content on your site
-Submit it to RSS distribution services.
    -Bookmark it.
-Once it is indexed, change it a little and submit it to eZineArticles.
-Submit it to RSS distribution services.
    -Bookmark it.
-Once it is published on Ezinearticles, spin the article (this is optional) and submit it to other directories using Article Submission helper or a similar tool.

Hi there, whilst i totally agree with you for re-using your articles. IMO, Definately get the most mileage from your content you possibly can.

Why do you say to change the articles a bit before you submit them to Ezine articles? If you read many of the posts here on WF, you will find many experienced article marketers who submit all content to their websites first, then get it indexed then go and submit the EXACT same article to EZA, i have recently adopted this strategy and i'm having great success and NO problems from EZA when i submit my articles. With alot of thanks to the very respected article marketer here on WF for her advice, Alexa Smith (Go check out some of her great posts).

Once i have had my article published in EZA, i then go off and spin the article (properly) and further submit the articles to major sites, then to some of my web 2.0's, then into article marketing robot a little later.

Thanks, so does it not matter having the same author details when you submit these duplicate articles? Im worried the backlinks wont carry much weight if the search engines recognise the same person is sending each article.

It doesn't matter at all. Actually, you want your resource box to spread all over the internet so that you have links coming from many different sites.
Do not forget that the articles that you publish in most of the article directories can be republished by other people, provided that they keep the resource box.

If you're not "Article Marketing" it doesn't matter. I will submit the same article to a handful of article directories for backlinking purposes only. I like to use:
I don't use Ezine Articles - there is really nothing special about them. They take too long to approve articles, and won't allow links to the sites I'm working on (legal sites).

A backlinks a backlinks a backlink... From an article directory :p Some are dofollow some are nofollow, but my Google Webmaster Tools likes both!!

You can send the same article to different article submission sites. And its better if your article has a good content.

I love EzineArticles and would suggest anyone doing Article Marketing to use them. Not only are they the biggest and baddest article directory online, but because they have this reputation, they get more traffic than any other article directory out there.

    How does this help you?

Well, if you are in the article marketing game to pick up back links and get targeted traffic (who isnt?), submitting your articles to EzineArticles will get you the best of both worlds. A well written article that is published on EzineArticles has a much better chance of getting viewed and scraped than anywhere else. Webmasters love pulling their content and including it on their own website or blog. When this happens your links will increase even more so.

This is why it is important to write articles that are rich in helpful content. This is the 3 E's rule that will help your articles/links spread virally over the internet so you get more bang for your buck. This means you should take the time to write an article that is enlightening, educational, and/or entertaining.

When you do this, you can submit 1 article to all of the different article directories in hopes that it will get seen by more people and that those people will like what you have written so much that they have to include it on their website too....Hopefully with your links still intact.

Well, If you have time to write many articles, just go for submitting them to as many directories as possible... otherwise you can always spin them up and still submit to directories.
