    There is a lot of free information on setting up Wordpress, either videos or ebooks. Google for the information.

    Since you're hosting with Hostgator, login to your website's CPanel,go to Fantastico and install Wordpress.If its not the latest version of Wordpress when you first login to the Wordpress control panel you can automatically update to the latest version.

    However, there are some things you have to think about first ie what style of blog - a 1column, 2column or 3column blog. Once you decided upon that, you need to start looking for a theme. There are literally thousands of free themes available and it will probably take time deciding upon one. Once you have a theme you then have to personalize it with your own header graphic, sometimes a footer graphic and possible change some of the colors used. You install the theme from within the Wordpress control panel tab "appearance".

    That will get you started.

      I guess so when I was setting up host gator it asked me if I wanted to purchase a domain from them or if I had an existing one.

      I typed in my new domain in the existing box then I checked out.

      Where do you think I went wrong?

      Good Luck...

      No add unique content, promote every page and repeat 20 or so times and you'll be making a good income if you choose the right niches.

    I've given you a "thanks" 3000 for making me smile!

    It's made me realise just how far I've come since 2006 and how hard, even the very simplest of things, seemed in the beginning.

    You've already been advised to redirect your DNS in GoDaddy and to use Fantastico to install WP.

    You may also want to consider adding some basic free wordpress plugins such as Platinum SEO/Google XML Site Maps/Login Lockdown/Easy Privacy Policy. Also make sure you get your Akismet Key as that pretty much prevents bots spamming your site.

    Regarding Adsense themes, one of the most popular was/is Prosense and you can download it free here;

    ProSense: An Adsense Ready SEO Wordpress Theme

    You will need to edit some of the files to insert your own Google Publisher ID though. They all begin adsense_** and you can use notepad/wordpad to do this.

    Best of luck!
