New Blog in need of help!

Hello everyone.

I have a blog on blogspot(I have heard not the best place) that just isn't doing well. I have adsense ads and others but don't have any results. Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I have been commenting on other blogs. I am trying to learn as much as I can that is why I came here because the people here know what is up!

blogspot blogs are good for learning, but you run the risk of getting it deleted at anytime. Plus you lose the potential for typein traffic.

I would suggest getting legitimate hosting and a domain, so that you can begin "branding" your own site and truly get it to look and function how you would like it to.

Make sure to read about and learn what SEO is, learn about social bookmarking, and make sure to understand what pre-existing resources are out there for you!

If I got a domain could I use the same blog title and what happens to all my followers on blogspot. I have business cards and have promoted my blog on facebook, digg, reddit, stumble upon, so what would happen to that.

Adding another problem to blogs.

I have a blog with Wordpress: AntoniosBonusAndReviews.com

I have submitted it to several submissions services.

But apparently, I am receiving spam comments.

What I mean is that the comments I am receiving seem generic, that could be applied to any blog post or article.

Examples:

Comment:
gWwPhD <a href="http://kocsckpwndgc.com/" rel="nofollow">kocsckpwndgc</a>, xrsbciowhxbf, [link=http://vdcrsedwqmaq.com/]vdcrsedwqmaq[/link], http://fmbcpinypqqw.com/

This can be a intelligent blog page. I imply it. You've so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to generate men and women rally behind it, clearly through the responses. Youve received a layout here thats not also flashy, but makes a statement as massive as what youre declaring. Great job, in fact.

Hello; Excellent post for me. Your post has good quality. I wish to has good posts like yours in my website. How do you find these posts?

As you can appreciate they seem to be written by some machine or software or by somebody that doesn't know English.

Does any member here know how I can control this and really receive quality comments on my blog?

  @trainermike: As suggested above, build a blog on your own domain and update all your other forms of marketing (business cards etc) to reflect this change
  
  @Antonio: Install Akismet plugin. You need to sign up for a free personal blog account and you will get a key. This is a very good spam protector for WP blogs.

  Akismet plugin is a "must have" for bloggers. I was going through over 100 spam comments a day which took some time to clean up before I started using Askimet.

Haha Trainer Mike, I was getting the exact same type of blog posts when I first put my blog up. It would be like Hey great information very useful. It's pretty annoying but Akismet will fix all that.
