Woo Themes or Thesis - Is there a big SEO difference?

I know many people believe that the best theme in the marketplace for SEO is Thesis. And then I hear other people say that Thesis, Headway and Studio Press are all in the same league when it comes to SEO. Does anyone have thoughts on whether or not there is a big difference between Woo Themes and Thesis (Studio Press, Headway) when it comes to SEO? Or is the difference to small to even worry about?

Thanks.

Jon

I did some research on Genesis by Studio Press this afternoon. It appears that a lot of marketers are making the move to Genesis -- with superior SEO as one of the primary reasons.

Is it me or do a lot of these Genesis sites look the same? If anyone has thoughts on Genesis and how easy it is to change the look of the theme I would appreciate it.

Thanks for all the replies on this subject. I really appreciate it.

I completely agree with George regarding Genesis. I've spent the past two
days going deep into Genesis and I must say that I am very disappointed.
Just to make simple changes to the theme like font size and color requires
that you dig into the code. In this area, Thesis completely blows Genesis
        away.

I believe Genesis is a great product . . . if you know css. And someday I
may have my blog on Genesis. But I will have a Genesis designer do the
work for me. My time is too valuable to be monkeying around with code
all day -- not to mention that it is frustrating as hell if you have limited
        css skills like me.

I've decided to stick with Thesis and Headway. However, if Genesis gets to
the point where you can do customization without getting dirty with css,
I'd definitely use the theme in my business.

I could be wrong but I feel like as long as you have an SEO plug in on your WP site you don't have to worry too much about which premium theme you use.

    PP,

absolutely!!! As much as i like Thesis, MOST normal themes with All-In-One SEo plugin are as good as Thesis (in regards to SEO), if not better. Heck, i even made themes with artisteer and i got excellent rankings! You might probably even have more flexibility using AiO plugin and a "normal" theme.

There are a few things that Thesis does, that a seo plugin doesn't. For example, on your single post page, Thesis makes your title in h1 tags, whereas most default themes leave it in h2 or h3 tags.

The same goes for Category pages. On Thesis, Thesis places your category name into a H1 tag, whereas most themes don't.

Some other benefits include... Thesis loads extremely fast, and we're working on making it faster.

As far as I know, the WooThemes are just themes not frameworks like Thesis is. So if you use a theme like a WooTheme you need some aditional plugins to make your Onpage SEO perfect.

The big advantage of Thesis is that you can change the layout completely in your WP backend to get an unique design. Which is also an advantage for SEO in my opinion.

On-page SEO is about the title and the content, everything else is tweaking about 3% of the rakning factors. Any theme claiming to be "best" for SEO is peddling marketing crap.

Thesis user here, but have to say this: K2 and Atahualpa kick ass and they are FREE.

My best option (so far) is a custom WP code. Nothing beats what YOU can do when you dig deeper in handmade themes.

But Thesis is out of the box a SEO horse.

Cheez i spent the last few days debating again since i couldnt decide whether to use Thesis (as i do on many other sites), Genesis, or some other attractive theme on Internet Marketing SEO Product Reviews & Downloads | E-Marketing | Online Marketing

I read many reviews, and while its true that Genesis gains a LOT of popularity those days it seems that the reason people choosing Genesis is more because of the recent fight going on between Matt (founder of WP) and the makers of Thesis who violated some GPL policies.

Many bloggers changed to Genesis because of that.

But a "real life" observation and view at the two themes (without any emotional bias!!) shows that Thesis is easier to design and style with. Like its not hard enough already

This is the reason i went with Thesis again since designing elements of my page is more important to me. And Genesis seems to be lacking a lot in this regards.

As for SEO, Genesis seems excellent, so is Thesis....but MOST themes can do well with AiO SEO pack. So SEO is not an issue, its other things which are important, IMO.
