I would like to know what marketers think about this. I am often asked this question as many people seem to want an easy way of doing things.
Sure , there are some affiliates who don't have a website but don't you think it is really necessary to have one as an affiliate? What do you think about this?

    Is it possible? Yes.
Is it a good idea? No.

If you want to build a sustainable business and achieve long term success, you have to be able to create trusted websites.

Even if you are just driving CPC traffic to CPA offers, in most cases you need a quality landing page.

CPC traffic ----> landing page (I use a lot of advertorial type landing pages) ---->CPA Offer

The problem with this is that all of the good methods to be profitable without a website really require large amount of funding and experience. A marketer who has no experience working with websites generally tends to have limited funding or experience so it's kinda a catch 22. The website isn't required but knowing how to work with them will make you much more successful. Or at least have a graphic designer that knows what they are doing for you to work with otherwise you will never learn how to develop good sites, landing pages, banners, etc.

Yes. Direct email marketing, twitter, and buying ads/traffic towards your referral link... but it seems like you'd be working up hill.

Having your own website when promoting affiliate products... a MUST. Thus all the traffic you're generating goes to your page, building YOU a list. Otherwise you're just building someone else's list, which is a big no no if you're planning to do this for a living.
