Aged High PR Domains for SEO

Hi.

What are people's views on buying aged high PR domains for backlinks? It is a little exhausting buying a new domain and putting up content and backlinking when all the work is done by myself. Recently I was looking at a PR5 domain. Thankfully I did not blow $200 on it as with the PR update, the domain ended up PR0. Is this a worthwhile strategy and if so what considerations should I take into account so it does not lose it's PR.

Thank you.

It can be a worthwhile strategy as long as you are using these domains to get links to multiple websites, otherwise you are paying a lot of money for a single backlink.

There is always a chance that the domain that you buy will lose some PR. Some people suggest that you immediately change your whois information to private, although that is still up for some debate.

You should also keep in mind that a lot of people who sell high PR domains/websites often are feeding a number of links into them that they control. When they sell the site, they will change all of these links to point elsewhere, which means that your site will lose the powerful incoming links that increased its PR in the first place.

I have seen people buying high PR domains and making an article/link directory on it and selling backlinks as permanent/monthly/yearly links.
At times the combination can go wrong
    ex fhujihiu.com having a PR3 is a link directory :/

I have seen many people buying high pr Domain for directory listing, but most of the time they didn’t give importance to the relevant directory.
Listing with the high PR domain really work, taking lots of link from low Pr domain is equal to one back link from high PR forum.
