How to Find Forum Profiles that DO Get Indexed

I'm sure this has been posted before... But I was just checking to see what I could find in Google - Wanted to see some indexed forum profiles! And here's what I came up with... Like I said, this isn't new news, just a refresher so don't HATE!

Step ONE - Choose a Word.
Example: cars

Step TWO - Choose one of these:
HTML Code:
/index.php?showuser=
/member.php?action=profile
/memberlist.php?
/index.php/forums/member/
/forum/profile.php?id=
/index.php?action=profile
/index.php/member/
/profile.php?id=
/memberlist.php?mode=
/forums/members/
/member.php?u=
/vbforum/member.php?u=
/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=
Set it up in Google so it looks like this:
HTML Code:
cars inurl:/member.php?action=profile
And you get Indexed Forum Profiles like these:
cars inurl:/member.php?action=profile - Google Search
cars inurl:/index.php?showuser= - Google Search
cars inurl:/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u= - Google Search

Click on some of the results - If you can view the Profile w/o having to be logged in you've got a winner!

CHEERS!

Notice the backlink shows in the link above (Google Cache) for "second hand mobiles for sale".
Ha that's funny. That site has 5 backlinks - all of which are forum profile links.

I was toolin around with Scrapebox with these footprints. I thought it was a simple way for Warriors to find some forums w/o droppin a dime! I think all aspiring Internet Marketers, Search Engine Marketers and Optimizers should know how to do these things themselves vs. pay money! Pay later when you're established and MONEY AIN'T NO THANG!!! LOL!

I've never tried out a drip feed... I think I'll have to look into that. Been hearing more about it lately, or I've just been paying more attention lately! :p

Man you don't have to totally spam. Why create the profile and never participate with signature and anchor text. If you go through the trouble to create a profile, at least participate in the forum with good content added and get good anchor text in a signature that both you and the forum you post to may benefit. Don't be a profile spammer, be a forum participator. Find something of interest like seo, something you will use and leave a good, thoughtfull comment on what you have read. Give some benefit and get some good karma going. Complete spam never lasts. Your profiles will eventually be deleted anyway if you aren't a real user.

I don't believe in forum profile links myself - I was simply showing others an easy way to find forum profile links that have been found by Google and indexed so ones odds may be a little better...

I feel that they are a waste of time for several reasons:
      • Most forums require login to view
      • Most profiles DO NOT get indexed
      • Many will be deleted - Forum Mods see this crap over and over and over again
      • It does not provide what I'm looking for - anchor text backlinks.
With that said, though, a forum profile is a backlink that may or may not be found and/or indexed in a reasonable amount of time (if ever!) just like any other comment or backlink built elsewhere.

What do you mean by "have no juice?" PR juice? Maybe a little, maybe not... But a backlinks a backlinks a backlink in my book regardless of NoDoFollow and that's how it should be in any SEO's book...

LOL! I was actually in the process of doing a MASSIVE case study PROVING the benefits to pinging, meta indexing, and creating RSS feeds to get backlinks and new sites indexed faster... Needless to say the outcome of my "case study" was that the above mentioned helped very, VERY little...

I was upset b/c I was a huge believer in meta indexing and pinging.

BUT it is still wise to keep lists of URLs where your backlinks are in a huge .txt document so you can easily go to these places to create more backlinks for future projects/sites.

Was the Warrior talking about Forum Profile links or Forum Signature links? You can draw a good amount of traffic from Signature links - I get a ton of referrals showing up in my Analytics to the links in my sigs on this forum... But those links are simply for some anchor text backlinks to a couple new sites... Just curious Warriors clicking!

I don't rely on them for traffic and they don't make up the majority of my backlinks. I'll get visits for a good signature from different psych forums that I visit and am members of... B/c a lot of those forum members are taking the drugs they see in my signature! Same with other sites regarding different subject matter - a forum that's in the same category will reflect that signature.

I'm not in the internet marketing niche, don't offer services, affiliate/cpa stuff, I do have a couple leftover Adsense sites that make me a pretty penny every month, but I pay them no mind b/c they rank where they should rank with little... Actually NO work or effort. Adsense is where I got started with all the SEO/SEM mumbo jumbo. I rely on highly targeted keywords for my traffic... And I don't need much traffic for MY niches. Oh, and no paid advertising. I'm against it LOL!

I am a STICKLER about my keyword/competition research... I exhaust my options before I choose one... Then build a site around certain terms (On-site optimization) and go from there...

I tell you what though... I get some GREAT traffic from Yahoo! Answers! I take questions that I get asked daily and post those questions on Y! Answers... Sure other people will answer them but I'll log in with another account and give the correct answer!! :p LOL!

I have other projects in the works right now... So I'm spread a little thin. Turns out being able to build a website and rank it is in high demand LOL! One for a company I'm launching with two other partners, one for a tattoo shop, one for an interior designer, one for an artist, one for a DJ/wannabe  one for the law firm I work for (there site is already a PR5 but the hosting/website company blows chunks), then I have my legal sites, and a few Adsense, and a few blogs... Ugh! Too much!

Nothing is guaranteed... Every SEO/IM/SEM/Whatever knows this, but if you're finding forum profiles in Google's search then I'd say you've got a better chance at getting indexed. You know, since Google is already indexing profiles from those forums...

By far this was one of the better tips that I have come across in a few years. However, I have a question. This method helps you find indexed profiles, but can you provide any tips to find relevant forums? When I add the term for instance "cars" I will get some forums that just offer anchor links within a forum about lets say cats. I don't like forum profile links but they are a necessity so I want to find the most relevant to my keyphrase. Any tips will help. Thanks!!
