How to get indexed in wikipedia

Dear friend
I want to get indexed in wikipedia...is any process to get indexed in wikipedia if yes then kindly let me know. I want to indexed my site into that.

I don't understand what you mean.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you don't get indexed in Wikipedia.

From their site:
"Wikipedia is an online free-content encyclopedia that anyone can edit and contribute to. Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales has described Wikipedia as "an effort to create and distribute a multilingual free encyclopedia of the highest quality to every single person on the planet in his or her own language." Wikipedia exists to bring knowledge to everyone who seeks it"

You contribute information to it, although I do not know why people would be searching for your name in Wikipedia. It is more like an encyclopedia or a dictionary. :confused:

  You're right, of course. My guess is that Sanjay was asking how to try to get a backlink to his site(s) into Wikipedia ... (this used to be possible, at one time: I think it probably isn't, effectively, any more, after a justified response to widespread link-spamming?). :confused:

You used to be able to just add your link in the resources section of a wikipedia page related to your site. However, it got abused so I don't think it is possible anymore unless you are one of the authorities on that particular subject.

  I think the fastest way is to build up a company and then sell it to an 2nd founded company what is some shared holding, maybe selling shares to an investor. I saw a lot of companies using this techniques, all got an own page of their company in Wikipedia and of course a backlink.
  In some niches it`s worth that money to do it, when your competitior has too an wiki-link.

  You can add you link to the Wiki page but it's usually removed within a few hours of adding the link.
  
  If someone random adds you to Wiki then the link usually sticks, one of my sites has been listed on a wiki page for months, bring a lot of traffic.

If you enter something materially wrong, it could BACKFIRE!!!!! If you enter something too onesided it would be a disservice, etc...

One person had me look at a document talking about this, to give a review. I PLEADED with him NOT to release it, because I, for one, don't want to see such a great resource FURTHER cheapened by such GARBAGE! It was NOT made to PROMOTE!

I have known about this for a LONG time, and I have never done it. Unless you REALLY have something to contribute, I suggest you FORGET THIS!
