Conflicting data, market samurai vs google keyword tool

Hi guys. I'm looking into a possible niche.

When I use the google keyword tool for my main keyword, I get

Local Monthly Searches - 60,000 and the competition bar says low competition.

On Market Samurai however, the SEOC is 20,600,000... obviously very high competition...

Why would google keyword tool say it has low competition?

    Hey thedog,

It's my understanding that Market Samurai pulls info from Google, so it's numbers will be pretty accurate most of the time.

However the competition bar in the Google Keyword Tool does not represent the number of websites competing for that keyword. Again, it's my understanding that the competition bar represents recent monthly, or annual adwords competition.

    Cheers.
