Can mixing plr with orig content affect seo negatively?

If I mix some plr blog posts in with original content blogposts, will the plr negatively affect the rankings of my blog overall and of the original content posts?
I know the plr won't rank well due to it being duplicate, but I am just wondering if that will actually have an effect on the original posts.:confused:
