Is it a waste of time to leave a link on a no follow blog?

No Follow Links have some worth but not as much as ones that are followed.

If you can get a backlink on a high PR nofollow page, take it!

I posted a single nofollow backlink on a PR5 page at 1:00 PM today, my sites logo & a page image are ranking for a two keyword phrase by the time I checked it in Google Image SERP at 6:00 PM today. Bottom of page #1 (#10) in Google text SERP.

If anyone tells you all nofollow are the same & worthless, don't listen to them.

If it's a high PR (page) nofollow isn't a problem because that high PR nofollow backlink is still sending Google to your own page, & fast.

I'm ranking a new page in less than 5 hours, from a single nofollow backlink. I could care less If it ever gives my page PR, all I care about is ranking my own page in Google SERPs & getting traffic ASAP.

Search engines want natural growth in peoples projects. If all links are follow links then that is not natural. You may not get as much direct value from a no-follow link but in some ways you need these type of links in-order to appear more natural. Thus there is a give and take process - just don't make all your links "no-follow" links.

It's very controversial in here. I post at both without a thought.

I wish people would take the label off of no follow and do follow. A link is a link is a link. The higher authority / quality of site, the better. Give me a PR 0 and a top 3 ranking and I'll take that anyday instead of a PR 5 and a bottom page 1 or top of page 2 ranking.

This is why the death of PageRank should be hastened--it's crap.

It is not actually worthless because it can help you in increasing your traffic. But it is best if you will build your links in do follow sites.

Depends. Where exactly are you linking on?

NoFollow wont make any improvements on your page rank.
DoFollow can improve your page rank if setup correctly.

Very true it's Depends. Where exactly are you linking on because if one page have good Alexa rank and page rank you can get visitor from that page and nofollow tag is only for Google other search engine will crawl your link.

There is nothing like worthless in white hat seo.

A link is a link. The only thing is you will not get any link juice with nofollow links in Google.

But you can get some plenty of keyword traffic and visitor too.

"nofollow" links has still its value but not as much as ones that are dofollow links.

I always recommend a mix of both. I've had good results from nofollow links, but wouldn't recommend their use in isolation - you've gotta mix it up.

In terms of traffic, it is counted as important criteria but from the SEO point of view it is not. However SE can not do much with those links. But it brings wide range of exposure to various audiences by using nofollow links. Here quality content is the key on using nofollow links.

They work very good in Yahoo and MSN for low competition keywords.

For example, did a test for "public relations seo" (allinanchor is 107).

1,000 blog comments (all are no-follow) - Yahoo #1, MSN #1 (my site is freetrafficsystem.co, - you can easily check it)

Only Google is smart and puts my site on page 2, position #20

If we look for these links to Google's point of view than it is worthless because Google give more preference to Do Follow links and those links are worth and given more weight-age.
