How can the Google keyword tool display a $7 plus CPC with no advertisers for the search term "how to get rid of acne"? Spyfu shows N/A.

Firefox shows no advertisers and Opera shows a few sometimes and none at other times (keep hitting the search button).

Probably there's no competition right now. But it exists there on background. So if you launch your ad you'll get $7 starting price.

Not really sure how the Adwords side of it works, but the competition shows medium. And why some ads shows up in one browser, but not the other (and Firefox is way more popular to not have the ads appear). But the starting bid wouldn't make sense, in theory if there's no ads running then Google isn't making any money, even ads running at a few cents would be better than nothing at all as in this case.

I know I've run into similar scenarios where the CPC was really high, double figures in some cases, and it showed medium to high competition yet only a few ads were running.

I guess this means having to manually verify nearly each an every keyword in the SERPs that the ads are really there and not just use Google's keyword tool.

      Thanks
