      Hi helpdesk,

One of the main differences in marketing to B2B vs. B2C is the relationship. Generally speaking, businesses will expect you to woo their business. They are much more receptive to receiving follow up calls and in many cases lead generation is the most effective approach.

I realize you do not want to use PPC as your primary marketing method, you should still consider using it to test elements of your organic campaigns to find most effective keywords, headlines, call to actions and landing page layouts.

you ask this like SEO is free.

those that preach the free seo route don't grow very fast until..... you guessed it, they outsource which cost money

Go to Hostgator and request their media pack. What you want to do is have your help desk software offered through their cpanel.

It won't be free (maybe negotiate for some perks), but you'll not find any B2B avenues on the free side that will have a chance in hell on converting into sales for you.
