Article Marketing For Backlinks

I usually outsource my backlinking efforts but I decided I wanted to try the whole Ezinearticles backlinking method for one of my new sites. Im a little confused as to how this backlinking idea works. Say I have a site Inceptionblablah(dot)com with 3 pages of content about the movie Inception. The idea here is to write new articles and submit them to Ezinearticles. These new articles don't really have to have anything to do with Inception but I just want to link to Inceptionblablah(dot)com with anchor text in my resource box. Am I right this far? Now a question I have is

1 - Can I use one of my posts on my actual Inceptionblablah(dot)com website as an article? If no why is this not good?

2 - Can I submit the exact same article I wrote for Ezinearticles to all the other article directories? If so whats the need to spin it? Does Google not count the same article as separate backlinks even if they're on different sites? If thats the case then wouldn't people picking your article up from Ezinearticles and using it on their sites not count as backlinks? I guess im just confused here.

3 - Am I wasting my time writing these articles when I can just pay $10 like ive been doing for 2000 blog comments or is 1 link from Ezinearticles really that good?

Im totally confused here and any help would be great. Its funny all these years doing IM and I never delved into article submissions for backlinks.

Sure - I publish to my blog then the article directories. I just change it up a little. Not a big deal. Just make sure that your penname on the blog and EZA are the same because EZA doesn't want you stealing someone else's hard work.

Yeah - I think spinning is open to debate. Spinning and getting it published means more backlinks.

    That's all.

I think you might be. If you have great content, it will get syndicated and people will preserve the links back to your money site.

I suppose the other way of going about things is to use the authority of EZA/Squidoo/Hubpage and get those guys ranked and link back to your site.

Personally - I just do article marketing because I like to have a varied link profile. And, I use it as backlinks to my sites - which are what I watn showing up in google rankings. I don't give a crap if my article does.

So then when do all the ebooks ive read 100k blueprint, xfactors micro site book all say to only submit an article to 1 of the article directories. Wouldn't it make sense to take an article and submit it to all of the directories?
