Ok, it's not like i'm not exactly getting backlinks from forums i just want to know how it works. Beefore now i though getting backlinks from forum was just by posting one's website in the profile section of the forum not knowing that it's in your signature that you get backlinks from. Correct me if i'm wrong.

What exactly i want to know is : Since one is getting the backlink from the signature link. Does it mean that everytime you make a new post you get a new backlink?

Yes, each post is a new backlink.

UPDATE: I have been doing a lot of research on this topic, and I am starting to hear from a lot of people that forum signatures don't have any value for increasing rankings at all. I no longer know WHAT to believe.

Yes for every new post you get a backlink provided you don't have any previous post in that thread and secondly it is cached by Google.

    Thanks

    may i know..

lets say i have 300 posts in a forum & google count it as my backlink...and the blog is in the first page of google for certain keywords...what happen if I change my signature to different URL? what happen to the backlink...will the site ranked at the first page will go down?

if I change the URL to other URL...do I get 300 backlink for my new blog? Is it good for my new blog?

If you change the link in your signature, backlinks you add before will gone. As to rank, if signature links is just few, influence won't be big, but if signature is your main backlink resource, well, it probably influence your site's rank.
Your second question, after you change the URL, if the thread changed and re-indexed by Google, yes, it's a new backlink for your new blog.

    Hello,

I have recently started over here in forums but I have some knowledge about having back links from it.We need to leave some relevant comments with some vital information which can be useful for the other instead of spamming. You should update yourself with all the latest buzz around you rehgarding the topic you are going to discuss. It will attract more users toward the web site and help you to generate more back links.

Look ath the signatures and you will see how to get links. The main thing though is to genuinly engage and try to bring value to the discussion. Not like the post just above this one.

Looks like your definition of organic backlinks differs to that of the OP. In my understanding, organic backlinks are links that other sites make to your site on their own accord rather than you creating them by submitting, posting, commenting, etc.

The OP mentions nothing about organic but you are right in your definition.
