This will be first time marketing clickbank product. I first want to test niche before I build site/blog around the product(s).

Can I use google adwords for this? Is this allowed by google to direct link your affiliate code with the clickbank product?

Thanks in advance

No; but even if it were, Jay, you wouldnt be able to learn what you need to know, that way.

If you promote a Clickbank product by direct-linking from some sort of PPC ad to a hoplink, what you learn is whether is whether it's possible to sell the product by direct-linking from some sort of PPC ad to a hoplink.

What you want to know (you said) is whether you can profitably promote the product by building a site/blog around it. You can find that out only by building a site/blog around it.

You take my point, perhaps? It's mistaken thinking to try to draw inferences about one marketing system by testing another.

People make exactly the same mistake with articles: they put their hoplink in a resource-box "to see which product will convert the traffic", and then they assume that the ones that convert a little bit that way are worth building a site for and they forget and abandon all the ones that don't convert that way at all, very kindly leaving them for the people who appreciate that it's very often the ones that don't convert by direct-linking at all which may actually convert best with a little site!

You're going to have a tough time direct linking from Adwords... but there are other PPC networks that allow it still (yahoo, for instance).

It's a good way to test a market/keywords/product quickly... don't expect to turn a profit from it though.

If what you're looking for is confirmation that people within that niche, searching with the keywords you're bidding on, are buying products that you're promoting... then yeah.. you could do that.

It's a quick and dirty way to test. Just remember that one product may not sell as well as another, so it's wise to test a couple products if you're trying to find a product that converts.

Same with keywords... one keyword might give you lots of clicks, but no actual sales, while another might give you 10 clicks and 8 sales..

Be sure to analyze the data, don't just make assumptions.

Thanks Alexa, thats good point you make. But whatever course/ebook I have read, they always suggested to first test if its niche where you can make sales.

I know; I've read them, too. I started making a good living when I learned to ignore them. The problem is that if you follow their advice, although the theory "sounds good", you're not actually testing what you need to know: you're testing something a bit different - and the "bit of difference", when scaled up, is quite likely to be the difference between making a living and not making a living. :p
