Is my website SEO optimized?

Hi,

We run a online furniture business.

My plan is to hire someone to continue to develop my site (the guy who did my site for me, doesn't have time for it anymore).

The site is developed in PHP and is database driven (I'm not an internet expert, so hopefully this makes sense how I explained it)

I asked in a previous thread if I should convert to Wordpress (that's all I hear about) and the WR community experts jumped in and said "if it ain't broke, don't change it" (including Wordpress developers) which is great because I LOVE my site the way it is.

There's a number of small tweaks that I want to do to my site, but I also want to make sure my site SEO optimized.

My question is what is the criteria for a website being optimized for SEO.

If anyone can recommend anyone, or anything, that can evaluate my site for SEO, please let me know.

    I'm no expert on SEO, but there are a few problems that I think you might want to fix.

    First, one of your images has a watermark on it. That usually means that you're using it without permission. It also somehow does not match your other images.

    The design is nice, sleek and contemporary in feel.

    In most part, it looks professional.

    However, the first four lines do not feel professional.

    If you decide to keep them, you'd need to fix the errors in punctuations. Use commas to avoid run-on sentences. The first three lines are questions.

    I'm sure the SEO experts will share their views on optimizing your site.

    The on-site SEO is not very good.

    In your head section there are 3 META tags that you should definitely be using: Title, Description and Keywords (although many will tell you keywords are no longer necessary).

    Each of these tags should be unique for each page and they should be descriptive of the page content as well as containing the keywords for the page.

    Also, there's very little use of H tags - tags that tell the search engines about important bits of information.

    For example, the Dining and Kitchen Chairs text could be an H2.

    Your images don't have alt tags - so the search engines don't know what the images are displaying. Given that there's very little text on that page the search engines won't have much knowledge of what it's about so they won't be able to send visitors your way.
