How can I find .edu blogs that will let me leave a comment with my url?

I remember seeing some software a while back that let you streamline this process, but alas, I forgot to bookmark it... doh!

So, what's the best, most efficient method to get me some decent backlinks?

        Go to your user control panel, scroll down, notice a link to "paid subscriptions" at the bottom of the left menu, click, pay war room subscription ($37 one-time fee) and you'll be a war room member instantly.

          www . dropmylink.com - doesn't find "dofollow" specifically, but you can tell quick enough with SearchStatus or any other nofollow link checker after visiting the page.

      just google you will find tons of blog commenting lists lying for download online free.but it is hard to get .edu links .you will get repeated .edu lists again and again.but if you get any new ones just inform me.bcos i too want it

        Since you're asking for software to scrape these kind of sites, the first thing that comes to mind is scrapebox. Pick it up at blackhatworld, I think you can get it for $57 there instead of $97. One-time fee, lots of updates and overall well worth it.

    You can use Scrapebox to find .edu blogs with do follow and pass the PR. You just have to do the harvesting, and then do an analysis of the sites you harvested. You can find the PR and follow status...

      You can, but it's a time consuming process, too. The dofollow detector isn't working 100% either. Still better then visiting any edu site and check it page by page.

    Go on Google's Blog Search and type the following in the box: site:.edu "Keyword". This will provide you search results of the latest blogs writing about articles related to your niche. The key here is to write comments with value. You will have to manually check if the links are dofollow or nofollow though.

      To find out if it's nofollow, do I just search the source code for "nofollow"

        If you are using Firefox, there is a nifty little plugin that shows all nofollow and dofollow links on a page by coloring the nofollow links red and dofollow links blue. Download it here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...on/nodofollow/

          Hey Mark, thanks for that... I've installed the plugin, how exactly do you know if the link is follow or nofollow?

          It just seems to highlight all the links purple...

            The purple links are all dofollow links and red ones are nofollow links. Check the links on this thread, you will find the username link is red and so it is nofollow.

            I made a screenshot

            As you can see some links are highlighted in blue(dofollow links) and some in red(nofollow links). You can right-click and enable/disable this addon.

    I found this technique of searching .edu and .gov sites in this forum and this works really very good. You can also try this method.

    Search in Google using these search strings.

    - “keyword phrase”+inurl:blog site:.edu
    - “keyword phrase”+inurl:blog site:.gov
    - site:.edu inurl:blog “keyword phrase”
    - site:.gov+wp-admin
    - site:.gov+blog
    - site:.gov+comment.php
    - site:.gov+”submit site”
    - site:.gov+”submit your site”
    - site:.gov+”add url”
    - site:.edu inurl:blog “keyword” “comment”
    - site:gov – ”you must be logged in” -”comment closed”
    - site:edu – ”you must be logged in” -”comment closed”
