Question for SEO gurus.

I have a question for the seo guys out there who don't mind helping.
I work for a large online retailer that has a large e-commerce site.
We are looking at the layout of our product pages and just wondering what is better for SEO; Having all your content in one long page like Amazon or having lots of content that is hidden away in div's ?
I have noticed Amazon's pages seem to rank well for long tail search terms but I am just wondering how much of that is down to onpage seo or the authority from links etc.
So in a nutshell Div or Long product page style.
if anyone knows any sort of doc / article on the subject they can point me to that would help.
