Very Slow Rankings With New Site

I have a 3 week new site in a moderately competitive product market that's not showing up in the top 1,000 results yet, which is very surprising for me and something I've never experienced.

I'm wondering if the issue is that when Google originally indexed the site, I accidentally left dummy text (Lorem ipsum) on 5 or 6 pages including the index page when structuring the content.

Though Google has since updated the listings since I've added real content to those pages, along with adding about 20 additional posts. My content is excellent (provides real value, not just fodder), I've got 15 EZA articles up, and about 50 more high quality backlinks as well - which is why I'm a bit perplexed.

I don't know what else would be the issue. Has anyone experienced delayed rankings as a result of having dummy text when a site was indexed?

Google will index your site again. All you need to do is replace the dummy
text with content related to the keywords you want to rank for and you
shouldn't have a problem getting back on track in that sense.

For a new site, don't expect immediate results, even if you have a lot of backlinks.

Your site needs to progress slowly up the rankings by building relevant
backlinks and keeping your on page site optimized with a goal in mind for SEO.

Thanks for the response. However, as stated I've already replaced the lorem ipsum and added a significant amount of new content, plus high quality manual backlinks. I'm pretty talented on the SEO front and know what I'm doing - just wanted to see if anyone has experienced a rankings "delay" as a result of the mistake I made.

Normally, I'm ranking pretty decently after 3 to 4 weeks, which is definitely not the case this time around. Perhaps Google's new site incubation period has been lengthened...

      Thanks again for your input.

Yes. It's pretty normal to experience delays for a new website.

Just keep up with what you're doing now because it seems like it's working for you.

You need to replace the dummy text with the right content that is related to the keywords you want. Anyways, Google will index your site again.

In your case, since you're working with a new site, don't expect instant results, even if you have a lot of backlinks, SEO needs a couple of time in order for your site to be indexed.

consistent backlinking is the key, don't buy 1 big backlink package and leave your site. Have to do the backlinks slow and consistent

Done this several times, Google's already replaced the dummy text with my new content, which contributes to my confusion. I think the competitiveness of the market is the issue. I'm being a little more ambitious than normal, so my usual 3 - 4 week positioning just isn't happening in this case .

      Thanks everyone.

I have noticed that when I change any thing in meta tags I have lost rankings. The way to stay on top is more quality articles. However I hesitant to do any sort of changes due to Google being so sensitive.
