Allow other people's content on my niche site, or no?

Here's my question..
I have a niche site that's semi-broad.. At least, it's not a micro-niche..
But I haven't been writing a whole lot of content for it, but I HAVE been building a lot of backlinks to certain pages on it.
I recently added it to ArticleRanks to see how that works, and I'm getting some free content added to my site from the service. So far the content has been fairly decent, but of course, each article has 2 backlinks to someone else's website, and it's always a competitor who is working for the SAME AFFILIATE PROGRAM.
Is getting this streamed and SPUN and UNIQUE content with backlinks my competitors a good or bad idea?
Since I'm not adding much content myself, I think it will look good to have fresh content being added.. But with all the backlinks going to my competition from my own website, I'm wondering if it's better to just leave the site without many updates and just continue to build back links to it.
What are your suggestions?!
