Hello warriors. I know that the new website, have to be indexed and everything.
But when someone starts adding backlinks lets say in article marketing, using an anchor text that leads to your website.

I have written about 80 articles with backlinks that add up to my site. And when I go to google and look for the amount of links my site have. It doesnt show 80 articles that I have submitted.

So does it take time for your backlinks to be indexed by Google? or do they appear immediately

Generally, you website doesn't get indexed but its pages do. The same with backlinks. When you write an article, that particular page has to be indexed before Google will give you any linkjuice. From what I understand, forum profile links take the longest to get indexed because your links are deeply nested.

I have put up three blogs in the last month, with a heap of backlinks and all have taken 2 weeks to index at all, mind you i am using social media, social bookmarking, squidoo and hubpages. Not sure if google is busy and can not index everything as fast or not, but my advice would be to just sit back and wait to see what happens.

Reply to Bravo: my backinks here have all been the first to get indexed for any of my blogs

True, signature links do show up pretty fast in Google when you are active in the forum but that's not what I meant. Angela's backlinks for example can take quite some time to get indexed if you are not actively posting.

Sometimes SEO is about as exciting as watching paint dry. It's frustrating to have to wait for results, but there's little alternative.

No service or search engine will show all the links to a site.

Simply put, if they did you would have the blueprint on how to beat them... or at least match them.

I should note that backlinks do need to be indexed to even matter. If the search engines don't know they are there, then they don't matter.

Easy way to help out here is to grab your author RSS feed and submit it to some RSS directories. You might even consider submitting a category feed as well. It will help get your articles a few links at the same time.

Yes, exactly. Google needs to crawl your articles first. Better you can share or bookmark your approved articles in social network sites. This will help Google to crawl and index your links quickly.

some article directories take some time to review your stuff before they published. Even when they published its still not indexed immediately in google. You can wait or ping them, it doesn't matter it will be indexed eventually no matter how.

If google finds them one by one it will look more natural. Dont worry, google will find them as long as they are indexable

It depends on the backlink. To be sure, that the page with your backlink is indexed as soon as possible, you should ping that page.

It takes time before a backlink can be indexed. You just have to be patient.

This tool showed me even less links then Yahoo did and Yahoo only shows me a very small percentage of the backlinks to my site.

Is it true that backlinks in the text of the article are nofollow, and only those in the bio box are do follow?
