Hey All

I have a bunch of sites ranking from number 3 to 30 for select keywords.

But I cant seem to get any to number 1......

I've been working for months on them and nothing seems to be working, everything seems to be stuck all across the board.

I've used pretty much every type of link building out there.

Any Ideas on how I can go about this one last push and get up to number 1???

D

There are a number of factors you need to take into consideration, most of which you probably already know. These include things like strength of competition, link velocity, age of your site, and many others. Here are a few quick ideas though.

    1. Get backlinks from pages with more relevant content. If your site is about laptops, try to get as many relevant backlinks as you can, rather than random ones.

    2. Look at the backlinks of the competitors outranking you. Try to get as many for yourself as you can from the same sources they're getting theirs from.

    3. Add content to the pages you're actually trying to rank. Google loves content rich pages and the more original, high quality content you have to offer on the actual pages, the more precedence you'll have when it comes to ranking over others.

    4. Vary your anchor text more. Sometimes people pound out backlinks with the exact anchor text and predominantly that, but this isn't natural. It'll look as if you're doing this yourself and Google can and will catch on.

    5. Be patient. Don't know how old these pages are, but sometimes it's just a matter of time. Age makes all pages stronger.

Good luck and hang in there.

See what links your competitors are using and start using them. Consistency is really important. Also make sure you are backlinking other pages on your site and not just the TLD.

It just requires further work. SEO takes time.

    Two things:

    1. Drip feed backlinks
    2. Some quality in-content links

Keep building until you hit #1.

Have you done any kind of advanced link wheel? What about press release syndication?

I have a link wheel of almost 300 properties. Problem is making them count.
