Hey Warriors I'm kind of new to all of this(1 year into it), and I was wondering, What's your experience in conversion, many small 1 keyword niche blog(wordpress "sniper") or an Authority blog, with many many keywords(we are past that they are obviously good keywords) And these are to sell respective "CB Products" on the niche and keyword based products.

What can get better ranking?
What seems to be ranking faster in google?
And also
Why please? haha, i dont want votes, yes this or yes no, if you would be so kind of adding what your opinion is and why it would be alot of help, thank you.

BTW: I have a few sniper sites, but for some reason I see a much better and comfortable "future" to the Authority sites.

I don't know...I think that some folks have success with the multiple smaller sites and some go for the authority sites. Personally...I went the big authority site route...But say you choose the wrong niche? You might lose all that time and effort...

One thing you might consider is to start with a small cluster of keywords site....then as it gets more successsful you might add a few more keywords until you "back into" an authority site...only it will be proven successful as you go...

there are ups and downs to both sides. keyword research will be the biggest part in both of them.. the BIGGEST downside to an authority site is the amount of time that it will take

You cant just start up a blog and find a group of 5 or 10 keywords that are all related, AND easy to rank for.. and in order to be an authortiy, odds are you will need a lot more than that..

It will probably be easier to find a group of random keywords of about five or 10 and do the single keyword blogs method, have you ever done SEO before?

because you are going to definetly want to know how hard each method would be before you go on making all of the investments

      Regards,

When you put a lot of energy and focus into smaller projects you may learn more and faster.

What you don't want to happen is do the wrong research and prep for your "authority" site and then find that it's too hard to monetize or that you went in the wrong direction.

So my advice would be to go after very unsaturated low competition niches (but where there is still good money) and get your confidence and experience.

But you should do what you feel most confident doing.

Authority sites are definitely the way to go - assuming you've done your niche research before you even begin.

First, a huge site in a niche makes you (the author) and your website an authority on the subject, builds more trust in your visitors and they will feel more comfortable buying stuff from an authority site, then from a small three-page blog.
Then, your authority site will eventually rank for many many keywords, that's additional traffic, and as it grows the overall site authority and page rank will give your new posts more ranking power.
why build many small thin sites, spend money on new domains, and do the backlinking all over again, when you can just build high quality posts on one site and grow it into an authority site?

If you have the time then an authority site. They are easier to promote and you will pick up traffic from long tail keywords. Also advertisers tend to prefer bigger sites which could make monetisation easier.

The authority route is always the best way.

In fact what most people don't understand is that authority is the same as credibility in some markets.

Let's assume that you have a website that has targets dieting, then you want to relate have credibility as someone who has gone through a successful diet. The best methodology is to use a strong branded website with social reach. This could be perceived as authority as well.

However if you are selling shed plans then you want to be seen as an expert in shed plan designs and so you recommending that product requires a specific type of authority. Using a much larger website with a lot of quality content, videos etc will definitely contribute to authority on the matter.

A much smaller site will not help you sell at all. You can generate your own mailing list using this tactic as well. More importantly a much larger website will have a much better quality score if you attempt to use Google PPC Marketing Adwords. You may even pay less for a click that the actual product creator on Clickbank.

So in short - go authority/credibility.

I agree with Caleb, do what feels right to you. Be an authority on the subject, something you have actually done. Crush It talks about this in detail.
