I've been working to build backlink to my site. For 2 weeks I have experience up and down ranking dailly. It is currently on rank 71. I keep building backlink on it dailly by submitting article to article directory. It just feel that the more backlink I give, the lower rank it will get. The website has been online for more than 6 months. It used to be in the first page for a month in its early days. Anything wrong that I do?

What type of backlinks are you linking to your site?

Make sure you are creating anchor text backlinks
Make sure your on page site is optimized for internal links
Make sure you build backlinks on a contining basis.

Nothing in SEO is set an forget.

You basically have two options. Quit building links for a week or two and see how the site reacts or continue building links and see how the site reacts. Two weeks of dancing is not excessive, so if it were my site I'd just continue building links. If it went on for, I don't know, a month or so, I might stop building links for a while and see if it helps.

Just keep link building, your rank is going to go up/down until you secure a decent position, but even then you'll still need to carry on link building if you want to keep the position you've got too.
