Should web 2.0 sites be the same name as your MONEY site?

Trying to dive head 1st in the seo game. I see others are having success driving their money sites up the rankings by networking a bunch of web 2.0 sites linking back 2 their money site.

My question is should all the web 2.0 sites be the same name as your money site?. For instance I tried to set an account up with blogger and someone already took my money site's full name. Just wondering does it even matter that all the web 2.0 sites are not uniform with the same name as the money site?

And besides blogger, squidoo & wordpress what other web 2.0 sites can I leverage?

    I definitely wouldn't use the same name. Same GENERAL category, yes. Same exact niche, no. The reason is I wouldn't want the 2.0 sites outranking my money site!

    Generally, you want the web 2.0 and other backlinking pages to be related but not so similar that they are actually competing.

    Same thing goes for backlinks to those pages. If you do any backlinking to your backlinks to try to boost them you don't want to use your money keywords as anchor text on your tier 2 links.

      not sure if I follow what your saying here

      For instance lets say money site is leatherhorsesaddles dot com

      your advising that i DO NOT use leather horse saddles as my anchor text linking web 2.0 back to my money site?

      I thought the whole point was to boost your rankings by having backlinks of your keyword anchor text on other sites....Am I misunderstanding you?

      Can you kindly give an example?
