Hey Guys,
I have a static site with about 170 pages of content, and was wondering if you think it would be beneficial to convert the site (which currently runs on Xsitepro) to a wordpress blog?

The only reason i ask is because all of my competitors that outrank me use wordpress, and they do not appear to be doing that much in the way of off page SEO, but they still rank waayyy better than i do.

What do you think?

yes you should convert your site to wordpress if you want a good rank in search engine.

wordpress not only has feature to create search engine friendly url but it has many seo related plugin available . More then all it will save your lots of time.

    this is just my opinion.

I donna about how far this is true but i would prefer static pages. I have seen better rankings with sites that are simple and static designed by dreamweaver (my personal experience). Actually we also dont know how optimized is your site but for me i would stick with static sites.

XSitePro is an excellent tool. Great for innerlinking. Making a change with 170 pages is a lot of work. Why not just add a blog to your site? Announcing new articles on your site in a blog post?

You know what, i have been thinking about doing this for a long time, but never got around to it. What would i do, just start a blog on a different domain name and make a short post outlining the change i made to my site on there, and then provide a link to my post or something?

            Yeah...you can do that.

Or you can use a subfolder on your existing domain, like http://www.mydomain.com/blog and link to it from the xsp menu bar.

You can do it very easily. But I think you can do same work by creating a different blog for you.By this way you can create another site and there might be some chances to get good traffic.
    Thanks!
