Link Wheels or Link Pyramids?

    I don't think Google likes either one really.

    As to what might work best?

    I would have to say a completely random natural looking pattern which might be a combination of the two with some freaky things.

    Trying to get your links in the same way all the time is likely to end up getting you stung. Gaming the system is the surest way to end up getting slapped.

    Don't try and be too clever with your linking - just make sure the links you get are good ones and don't waste time trying to build masses of crap links with complicated relationships.

      FYI you can do a simple link wheel that isn't crap. Link wheel is just a method of using several web 2.0 sites and high-traffic sites that get indexed fast... it has nothing to do with spamming or crap content.

    Link Pyramids work on the same basic idea as the wheel. The only difference is that instead of linking your spokes in the wheel to each other in a circular fashion, you do it in a pyramid layout.

    Linkwheel:

    A -> B -> C -> D

    Link Pyramid:
    B -> A
    C -> A
    D -> B
    E -> C

    I personally would go with a linkwheel, it looks more organic. But Google I think can notice either now, so it probably doesn't make much difference.

          Are those correct? It looks to me you guys flipped the definition. Pyramid should have been in hierarchical order and link wheel should have been mixed and interconnected. :confused:
