No, commenting on nofollow blogs will not provide you the backlinks. However you can drive the relevant traffic by commenting on niche blogs.

Even though Google says they don't include nofollow links in the algorithm...I believe they do matter. Just just 1 link from a wikipedia page and you'll see the difference.

Backlinks from DoFollow blogs are only beneficial for getting links and NoFollow blogs are not helpful in getting link juice.

That is a fantastic analysis. I have been using few no-follow links from a list of specific sites for most of my sites to improve SERPs.

Here are three reasons it doesn't matter:

            1. Google bots travel so fast that they sometimes accidentally follow nofollow links.
            2. NoFollow/DoFollow is a Google thing. Yahoo and Bing follow everything.
            3. Want to get Google's negative attention? Then have ONLY dofollow links pointing to your site. Completely unnatural. Raises the red G flag.

All links are good links. All links matter. Just get links.

Yup, I have the same philosophy. I have a ton of do follow because I mainly do article mkt but I try to add some no follow from time to time from relevant niche blogs and also because I think it makes me look more natural. I get a lot of facebook "like" and tweets so that probably helps my websites look more natural.

What she said. I don't bother checking if a link I place is dofollow or nofollow. Honestly, even when they say it's google that bothers with the nofollow links, then why is it, when I check my backlinks in my webmaster tools (my google account), that I see backlinks that are suppossedly nofollow? Just get the links, it doesn't matter where.

Sadly, no proof for that. We don't know the exact algorithm of Google, but from the mouth of Google we have heard that they don't follow the no-follow links.

So as a SEO personnel we can better target the do-follow sites rather than no-follow for better results

Traffic is all for the success of any Internet Marketing. You will get traffic from NoFollow blog comments. NoFollow blogs have very small number of comments. If your comment be relevant, interesting, informative then you will get direct traffic from that site.

So NoFollow blog comments have positive effect on SEO.

As you know that google only follow do follow links and give backlink for website. On other hand bing and yahoo follow all links. But no follow links are also beneficial for getting traffic. So do not worried about do follow or no follow. just make more and more backlink.

I believe it's always important to have some mix when it comes to dofollow and nofollow backlinks, and nofollow links are a good way to mix your anchor text as well, so as to make it appear natural
