buying a domain name for 1 or 2 or 3 years to get better rankings for your website on Google?

Can you people offer feedback based on your experience?

Is it possible for me to get high rankings on google with a domain that is just purchased for one year?

I have heard that to get higher rankings Google looks more fondly on a domain name that is registered for more than one year because they believe you are more serious about running a business and are not operating a spam site.

Have any of you gotten excellent rankings in the search engines with domains you register one year at a time? Or better rankings when you register the domain for a longer period of time?

Thanks

yes , aged domains have more chances to be higher in search results.

though you can beat aged domain with your new domain , but i require some more work in comparison with aged domain.

Aged domains really gives you advantage for ranking in Google but if your domain is not anyhow related to your keywords or niche then it won't be a real advantage.

But if you are buying aged domain check backlinks for the domain to make sure this is PR there is for reason.

And check if the PR is not fake, because many domains on popular domain auctions have fake PR

Some people here needs new reading glasses. At least folks, TRY to read the damn thread...

OP: All the tests I've made show me NO result a domain name gained something just cause I bought it until 2016.

Perhaps it's a small scale point in Google's algo, but definitely NOT something worth your time.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

Age of the domain is one of the important ranking factor. Trurtworthiness of the site will increase as the site age increases.

      Oh, come on, guys.

Only one out of four people has actually read the first post!

It is not about how old the domain is!!

It is about how long you register it!

Sorry, I couldn't hold myself back this time, this board is just full of people who are obviously just trying to get their signature links out there. At least TRY to provide some value!

no meaningful benefit to registering a domain for over a year. Now even if you were talkig about how old a domain is as some thought you were - domain age has nothing to do with ranking. The only age factor is how long the page has been indexed. so for those that buy a domain do nothing with it waiting for it to age - sorry - no benefit until you get some content indexed

Google could care less about age either way. Why do you think google
cares more about a 15 year old domain, that probably changed hands
a zillion times? Age has nothing to with anything. That's why the big boys
create a wesbite now and rank. Not 10 years later. Age of domain I guess
is just another item in the list of voodoo SEO.

Many domain sellers use this myth to hoodwink people. Don't get hoodwinked.

Of course you will see older sites in SERPs. Logical, right? They have added
content, got users, backlinks, raised PR, done the right things. But age is
          not why they are there.

I know some people hate Matt Cutts, but he puts it quite well.

I've registered various domains in the past from 3-5 yrs and found no benefit to it. I know that some, like Cary Bergeron for example, have suggested that Google will trust your site more and it gives it better credibility, etc., but that is only speculation at best. No one with Google has ever come out with anything saying that if you register your domain for several years we will give your site a better presence.

And like others have mentioned, how about some of you posting to a thread... actually take the time to read it first?

Adding good content and back links is far more important than registering your domain for more than 1 year.

From My Experience Registering Domains For Longer Periods Is A Good SEO tactic.

My income revolves around creating sniper sites and from my personal experience I have not only found it easier to rank no1 in google for registering my domains longer than 1 year but overall all the sites where I have only registered for one year do not perform as well, I use exactly all the same other on page and off page optimisation regardless but the domains I register for longer periods always out perform the ones I register for just a year ( which I now no longer do )

Fact. There is a minor benefit to domains with longer registrations. It shows that the site is planning on being around a while, and makes it more costly for spammers to buy disposable domains. Just like when the IRS determines who to audit, each "flag" is worth a certain amount, and if you score too highly, boom - you're audited. A single year registration is just one flag.

    Ady.
