Question regarding URL shortners

I'm backlinking to a page deep into my site, so the link reads www.mysite.com/something. I'm backlinking along with an anchor text. I've come across some high quality forums, but they have a word limit on the signature and my link is not fitting. Somebody suggested using www.goo.gl. Now my question is, will the benefit of the anchor text be passed on to my original link or will it just stay with my shortened URL?

Are you saying that they include the URL in the word count even when you are using anchor text? That seems strange. I have only ever encountered word count limits that include the anchor text and not the URL that is being linked to on the anchor text.

Yeah. The word count included the entire BBCode, link, and anchor text. There was no option to select the word and hyperlink it.

I doubt that you would get SEO benefits by using the goo.gl or any other URL shortening service.

The only advantage I can see about using goo.gl is that I can monitor the number of clicks. Is there any other software that'll help to track the number of clicks?

Mostly I used bit.ly for shortner Url..because you also share this link with other third - party website.

    One More Important Thing is:

Google counts backlinks in its measure of popularity for search engine ranking. So one can wonder - will NOT having your own domain in the backlink actually reduce your score for rankings with Google?

How long do goo.gl links last for?

Anyone know of a script that allows you to use your own domain to shorten urls?

Just remove the anchor text while your site in the signature part, this will help reduce in decrease the number of characters in the signature part. Just follow the forum guidelines before you participate in forums.

This limitation cannot be overcome as we have to follow the forums signature rules. You have to short the signature as you can short the whole url for one forum signature......
