This is something I seem to always find myself struggling with. I'm trying to build a landing page that Google will like but at the same time it is a squeeze page and my thinking is that most people are not interested in reading a lot of text. So basically I always end up trying to do two completely opposite things: build a page that has enough content that Google will like it but at the same time build a page that is basically just a bare minimum of reading required.

Below are two different approaches I always seem to be stuck between.

Making Money On The Internet | Making Money On The Internet
Income Online

Another aspect of this is the whole fresh content idea. Obviously a squeeze page isn't really going to have daily updates, in fact it's probably going to remain the same most of the time. On the other hand the blog section of the site would have new content pretty regularly but wouldn't really be a sales page because the "current" post would always be changing and while it would be topic specific it wouldn't really be a sign up or sales page.

OK so I might be able to get Google to like the blog area of the site because of the constant addition of new content. But the section I really want Google to like is the sales pages.

Note; The sites I gave as examples are just some of my first attempts. I have other domain names that I'm working on building sites for. Thus the reason for the question, I am trying to refine my SEO efforts as I learn, i.e. the new sites have keyword specific domain names and page titles etc. It's the content part that's giving me fits.

Second ones better but you need faster hosting or a cache plugin because its coming up pretty slow. Other wise not bad.

When you say better do you mean from the visitors point of view or from Google's point of view?

As a visitor I would agree. I have to read sooo much anyway I really don't want to read all that copy. I just want the basic information. But everything I see or read about Google tells me "Content, Content, Content," How to reconcile these two approaches?

BTW that site is hosted from my own machine {desktop) and was one of my first forays into IM. My newer sites are hosted with Hostgator and so they are faster.

So... Are you saying the first approach is the better choice?

I mean on the surface that sounds simple enough but in a real world application it's not very helpful. Let's face it I'm not going to rewrite my landing page twice a week and a blog is not the best place to put a sales page as it is always changing and better suited to news and stories or other such content.

I don't really see too many sales pages ranking on the first page of Google. The successful marketers don't rely too heavily on Google as they get affiliates and the like to do the donkey work.

Then I have to ask; Why all the obsession with Google??? Honestly, any search you do on SEO will bring you to Google within the first paragraph. I mean really, what are all these people doing on this forum?
