I changed my meta descriptions 2 weeks ago but they are still the same on the search engines. How long does it take until they get updated and does it affect my ranking when I create a new meta description for my site?

Changing your meta description will not affect your ranking. Usually the search engines will update with your new meta description whenever they crawl your index, 2 weeks seems like a long time.

Yes it does. Hopefully they will do it soon

I used the All in One plugin, but now I deleted it because I am using thesis theme and it has an integrated SEO system. So I put metas in there and delted the all in one plugin. Let's hope that everything goes the way it should go

  I think it depends on how often Google updates the search results for the keyword you are looking at. We have some pages that show different titles/descriptions depending on what you search for on Google... High traffic searches like "diamond engagement rings" are refreshed every 2-3 days whereas "clarity enhanced diamonds" can take weeks.

  Do you have a Google webmaster tools account? If you do it gives you a whole heap of options and info on how Google crawls your site which you might find enlightening.

Tell your customers what they want to hear through your site’s Meta Description, and you will definitely get some advantage over others in the SERP. Including some of your keywords will give you some advantage in Google’s relevancy algorithm.

It takes about 5 days to update usually. In your case it will take longer
