Should I approve Pingbacks in WordPress?

Hi warriors,

I run a blog and everytime I add a new post I get tons of pingbacks from seemingly unrelated blogs listed under the section "related blogs" of their posts.

Yesterday after adding a new post I get like 40+ pingbacks in a few hours. Is this spam? Should I approve them or delete them permanently? Will approving them lead to big *G thinking I am linking to "bad neighborhood" / unrelated blogs?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Oh its not. It's not an autoblog but a manual one. Sometimes I do get a few pingbacks for my new posts which I think is normal, but 40+ in a few hours seem like I'm spammed (though they are pingbacks not comments).

Any idea what is the impact of pingbacks?

      Thanks!

I rarely ever approve mine. They just provide a place for visitors to exist your site and to leak page rank. Unless you have requested the pingbacks and know the blog authors, I say don't approve them to be shown.

I usually never approve them. Why have outbound links on your site without any reason?

I think you should delete them as this is no use but will only promote others blogs and websites.
