What share buttons are worth adding? How many is too many?

It's a sports site aimed at males 18 - 35...

Trying to figure out if things like Digg, Delicious, Reddit etc is pointless here, and if I should just stick with the 3 big ones: Facebook, Twitter, Myspace (yahoo buzz? Google Buzz?)

Thanks for any help

But do you use them ALL? Or just the top 3 or 4?

    I would suggest using:

Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Digg. Those four should cover the spectrum.

I know that you had not discussed video (ie. YouTube) to this point. However, since it is a sports site aimed at males 18 - 35, that might be a good idea.

    Hopefully this helps.

Facebook button is sort of a must. If your Facebook likes are in thousands, then it would impress new visitors. You could add twitter, stumbleupon, digg or reddit buttons. Reddit seems a bit strict about submissions, while others are submission friendly. There is a new feature for site owners in Digg, where new RSS articles can be automatically submitted. Use the ones where you have more friends.

Why decide? Use all the ones that count. Very easy for
anyone to add these buttons to your site for free.

Digg, mixx, Reddit, and stumbleupon are also good.

I find the fewer the buttons, the more successful I am. It also depends on your audience. Paul's right, I use addthis, it's great! Make sure to no follow those links though.

Why do you want to have the links be "no follow"?

I thought that was one of the reasons to provide the buttons... to create backlinks...
