Hi, I a am looking for keywords/niches. As far as I understand, getting a domain to match your keyword is essential in getting well ranked in Google, how true is this?

"daddykool", I don't think that "ProfJannes" will be able to send you a PM until they have 50 posts.

Nonetheless, having a keyword domain makes getting ranked quicker, but that does not mean that you do not still have to write good unique content, optimize your website, and build backlinks. Just take a look at the majority of the of the websites which rank on the first page of the search engines for any given keyword. A minimum of 90% of them do not have an exact keyword match. In fact, many of them do not use any part of the keyword at all in their domain name.

I have found having the exact phase very useful in the URL. Not so useful is when there is a hyphen in the middle if you have two words...dont get me wrong still useful hower try to obtain with no hyphen in the domain name.

      What about adding words like:
      'the...'
      '...now'
      etc.

Do they still rank well because the keyword appears in the URL?

This line is absolutely true, if Google found our keyword name in our domain name so it give some better result.

It is not essential to have exact match domains although they are handy to have.

There are plenty still available also.

There are still plenty of exact domain names available... but you might have to look into niche markets that others may not have thought much into.
